Professional Ethics and The NAEYC Code of Ethics

Professional ethics is usually defined as the personal circle of behavior standers that is expected from professional individuals, who work in a specific organization or corporate. Professionals should be capable to work professionally and apply their knowledge and what they have learned in their filed in a way that the others cannot, because they don’t have the knowledge that the professionals have. A good example of that is the medical oath the doctors say before they start to work in their filed. The National Association For The Education of young Children code of ethics is a good example of professional ethics standers in the filed of early childhood education.  NAEYC has its own code of ethics, which defines how individuals and corporates should operate in the filed of educating our precious young children. The core values in the NAEYC code of ethics are

Appreciate childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle
Base our work on knowledge of how children develop and learn
Appreciate and support the bond between the child and family
Recognize that children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, * community, and society
Respect the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of each individual (child, family member, and colleague)
Respect diversity in children, families, and colleagues

Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect.
